Day 1: Flight - London / Dar es Salaam
Day 2: Arusha Upon arrival in Arusha, transfer to Mt. Meru Game Lodge (or similar), for dinner and overnight. D
Days 3 and 4: Arusha to Tarangire Drive to Tarangire National Park where the Tarangire River is the main focus in the dry season. Here abundant wildlife congregates at the only water source in the region. Tarangire is famous for its elephants and is also a good place to look for leopard and other predators. Days will be spent exploring the park. Accommodation is at Tarangire Safari Lodge. FB
Day 5: To Gibb's Farm Leave the park after an early morning game drive. Today you'll head up the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and continue to a rich plantation area on the fringes of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. Gibb's Farm is a lush oasis set in hundreds of acres of coffee estates. The property borders the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a protected forest reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and utilise the rest of the day to hike in the surrounding forest or fields or relax in the stunning gardens. Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater An hour and a half drive by covered Land Rover transports you to the magical Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing. On a good day you can see all of the 'Big Five' plus zebra, antelope and a myriad of colourful birdlife. Return to Gibb's for dinner and overnight. Gibbs Fram FB
Day 7: To The Serengeti Set out for the endless open plains and stunning skies of the Serengeti. A scenic four-hour drive transports you to your camp for the next three nights. Ndutu Safari Lodge borders the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti National Park and is idyllically situated amongst acacia woodland overlooking Lake Ndutu. Stay in rooms of thatch and stone with private verandahs that overlook the lake, often fringed with flamingoes, and the Serengeti plains beyond. Ndutu Safari Lodge. FB
Days 8 and 9: The Serengeti Relish two days of glorious game viewing, bird watching and relaxing evenings under star-studded skies. At Ndutu where the emphasis is on wholesome food and friendly service, you can enjoy the sight of animals grazing nearby, as well as birds chattering in and around the old acacia trees. For seven months of the year (December to July) the vast migration herds remain in and around Ndutu and at the height of the migration lines of wildebeest can be seen crossing the lake. Day 10: The Serengeti to Arusha After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, depart for Lake Manyara and continue to airport for flight via Nairobi to London.
