Captivating Islands in the Indian Ocean and Caribbean that dreams are made of - peaceful lagoons, colourful coral reefs and swaying palms with luxuriant vegetation, exotic flora and a fascinating colonial history.
The climate is warm but tempered by gentle trade winds; white sandy beaches and rustic, thatched huts nestle beneath swaying palms; luxuriant vegetation is nurtured by constant sunshine and rainfall is just frequent enough for the surroundings to be a permanently lush, green haven for an abundance of wildlife; offshore, coral reefs and the crystal waters of turquoise lagoons play host to an amazing kaleidoscope of marine life.
Trinidad and Tobago consists of the two southernmost Caribbean islands, geologically an extension of the South American continent. While individually the islands contrast vastly in character, together they offer the best of everything one can expect from a Caribbean experience. Only 21 miles apart visiting the two islands is made easy by the regular flights and ferries offered.
In the area between the equator and the Tropic of Capricorn, some 20° to the south is Zanzibar a charming spice island and only a short boat trip from the Tanzanian mainland.
The Maldives is a beach lover's paradise. Imagine a group of over 1000 perfectly unspoilt coral islands, most of them idyllically palm-fringed and uninhabited. Powder soft, white sandy beaches, crystal clear, coral-ringed lagoons and underwater reef gardens, teeming with colourful fish and coral shells. On the equator some 300 miles south west of Sri Lanka, in the Indian Ocean.
Mauritius is the brightest jewel of the southern Indian Ocean, a holiday paradise with magnificent beaches, top class hotels, excellent year round climate and breathtaking flora. Located 500 miles east of Madagascar, a small island, some 60 kms from north to south. Much of it consists of low lying farmland with plantations of cotton and sugar cane, and a number of abrupt craggy mountains provide dramatic evidence of the island's volcanic origins.
